Finding a Tutor

If you are a student already enrolled in a degree or TAFE course, or you're still in school but willing to pursue a career in ICT, then why not consider boosting your chances of success by hiring a tutor to help you with your studies.

Tutors are great motivators who can personalise material and focus on your needs as a learner. Often many of us struggle with certain teachers simply because we feel like they don't know how to explain things in the right way.

The advantage of hiring a tutor is that you can find a person who suits your learning needs.

It is motivating because tutors are like personal trainers at the gym. They will push you to achieve your goals!

These days it's easy to find a tutor.

Online Tutors

Several sites both local and international offer online tutoring but we wouldn't miss the opportunity to promote our own platform. Hear me out!

Superprof provide both online and in-home tutors with a means of putting their services on the market and gaining an online presence to find customers whilst making it as easy as possible for students to find their ideal tutor – let’s take it as an example.

There are three simple steps to finding IT tutors around you:

  1. Go to the Superprof Australia homepage.
  2. Fill in the relevant information (e.g. IT lessons in-person in Brisbane)
  3. Click ‘Find a Tutor’

Here, you’ll see a list of tutors that fit your search criteria.

You can narrow down your search even further by adjusting the filters on the left-hand side of the page.

So, looking for an IT tutor who is local to you is less restrictive than you may initially think - there are plenty of avenues to be explored!

Offline Tutors

In Australia, nearly every work environment requires people to have a knowledge of IT, or they hire someone to do IT work for them. It's a growing industry, and there are plenty of motivated educators willing to meet the demand for learners.

But just how difficult is it to find a Private IT tutor near you?

From retired teachers to PhD students, the tutoring community shares a wealth of knowledge and skill to be shared with learners – you just need to know where to find them!

The key is to keep it simple – you don’t need to contact every IT tutor in Brisbane to find one that suits you.

Start by consulting your local press and looking for tutors advertising their services.

In the modern age, it’s far too easy to head straight to the internet to find what we’re looking for – but when it comes to finding an experienced English tutor in your area, the traditional approach often triumphs.

By simply flicking through the advertisements in your local newspaper, you’ll be able to find out tutors’ names, contact details and some information on their services.

Supermarkets and convenience stores often display advertisements and offer flyers from people in the area including tutors. Experienced tutors usually advertise an hourly rate, so once you read a few you'll have an idea of the rate you would like to pay.

In summary, Brisbane is a fantastic location for students who want to refine their skills and learn ICT.

You won't need to spend months finding the right course, campus, or tutor because there are so many options available to you!

Apply at one of the world's leading universities or get a graduate certificate from the state-wide TAFE program, and you will be well on your way to entering the cyber business in a year or more.

Your professional career in the digital world will be long lasting, so make the most of your education.

ICT is a competitive environment, but once qualified there is good job security and if you rise the ranks to management it can be very well paid!

Make sure you continue your professional development,  by staying up to date on the cyber world and you will no doubt have a successful career!
