About Paul
I am a 22 year old Analyst working at a large financial firm, and have recently graduated from the University of Glasgow. I have worked as a tutor since the age of 16, first for friends and family, and then in a more professional capacity. I worked many different odd jobs (building websites, or working minimum wage) before starting as a part time research assistant in cybersecurity at my university. I then did an internship at JPMorgan, followed by Goldman Sachs, and then worked 1 year part time as a lead programmer at the university software service. I started at a large financial firm this July. All throughout my education/career, I have always tutored- I love it and it's given me a lot of fulfilment to help people grow! During my childhood, I studied at an English school in France where I did my A levels. I speak fluent English and French without an accent. I love to travel, read, and code! I am quite social, but also serious about the outcome of my work, whether it be at my full time job or as a tutor.

I like to focus on course material for students that are going to pass an exam, by looking at the exact knowledge that is needed. I then try to find which topics the student is struggling with the most, and tackle them one by one, starting by the root cause of the issue. This leads to greater fundamental understanding of the material by the student, and more independent thinking. For those wanting to learn about programming, I also start with the fundamentals and slowly build up to larger concepts. I teach paradigms, which are general concepts for structuring projects and code in a way that is most efficient and makes most sense. Classes typically last an hour as I find that longer than that leads to loss of focus. I have tutored for my classmates when I was in A-level, tutoring for computer science and maths. I also was a student helper in my final year, and I would help the computer science teacher with explaining coding concepts to my peers. I can teach for GCSE/A-level, for university students needing some extra help in certain topics, or for anyone wanting to learn some programming or computer science concepts. Some languages I can teach include Python, Java, C, but I also teach broader concepts like frontend, backend and full stack development, or video game development.

Paul is a great person to improve one's programming skills with. He explains everything well and helped me understand Python when I needed it for one of my courses at the University. He's patient and makes sure you feel confident about your skills. I'd highly recommend him as a tutor :).
Paul was my classmate in 6th form. We were doing maths together and he was a great help to me in that class. He has a way of explaining complex subjects in a simple manner.
