About Adalena
I have spent the last four years finishing my degree in earth and environmental science at the University of Missouri. I know what it's like to be a student, I was just there! I want to help you achieve your goals. You can't fake passion for a subject, and I love what I do! I hope to not only help you learn and reach your goals, but to leave you feeling engaged in what you're learning. By the end if you're not left feeling confident, capable, and inspired then I haven't done my job right. While I was working on my own research, I have also worked for several years in environmental education. This means I'm experienced in creating lesson plans for all ages and experience levels. My passion is in sustainability and environmental science, but the thing about ecology is it's a culmination of a great many fields. To do well in my work I have to understand micro and macro bio, chemistry, botany, zoology, hydrology, soil science ... I'm constantly learning and developing new lessons. I can also help in GIS projects and troubleshooting, as I have lots of ESRI experience in my university's certification course. One of the things I take pride in is my direct, clear-cut communication style. Of course, I know how to write professional works and understand scientific technical writing, but one of the things that I work towards is making things easy to understand. I think any subject can be taught at any level if you go about it right and create the foundation. In the past I have created alternate lessons for the same topic from the kindergarten to graduate level.
