Can a baby learn how to swim?

Traditionally, it is thought that similarly to other animals, we are born with swimming and floating reflexes but lose them as we grow up. However, if we have an opportunity to put those reflexes into practice while we still have them, they'll stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Even a very little baby can benefit from spending some time in the water. They can get used to that new sensation and start developing floating skills.

To avoid any risks, you should keep an eye on your baby the whole period they are in the water and help them stay on the surface by holding them up.

Another important detail to take care of is the temperature of the water. Little kids under the age of two months should only swim in the heated water at the temperature of 32 degrees Celsius.

You should also make sure that young kids don't drink any water from the pool because it may contain dangerous bacteria for their health.

Children can begin to swim correctly with a teacher

When we speak of teaching a baby to swim, it is usually limited to simple floating. However, when kids get older, it can be a good idea to think of working on the right swimming technique.
