Others look only at Maths and English exam scores to decide which schools are the best; they don't consider ATAR percentages. Many schools don’t even disclose this information (at least, not in a way where we can find it!).

This ranking reflects a student’s academic performance relative to peers of the same age who are enrolled in similar classes. It is applicable nationwide and considers specific testing from each state; for instance, in Western Australia, it relies on data from the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) exams.
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a standardized exam administered across the country for students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9. It assesses the growth and progress of students at each school, ensuring they are learning the required material.
Recently, NAPLAN's grading system was revised, allowing for comparisons of scores from 2017 to 2022 and from 2023 onward. However, scores from before 2023 cannot be compared with those from 2023 and later.
