More YouTube Channels to Help You Play Bass

If you get tired of watching video tutorials and just want to let loose on the fretboard, there are a few other channels you can visit to get a bass fix.

Harry - Music and Stuff

This is a great channel to visit if you just want to sit back and play along to some classic bass lines. Harry is an avid bass player who films covers of himself playing the bass to your favourite songs and plays the bass guitar tabs to those songs at the same time.

As long as you know how to read guitar tabs and sheet music, playing along with Harry is an easy way to practice and improve your bass playing.

Even if you don't fully comprehend tab or sheet music, watching these videos and seeing how Harry plays along to the tab will greatly improve your understanding of tabs and even benefit your sight-reading.

Cover Solutions

Much like Harry's channel, Cover Solutions plays videos of bass covers with the tabs of the songs alongside them, allowing you to easily play along.

They have videos in a range of genres and styles, so you can try your hand at playing any of the following:

Learn to Play The Bass With a Tutor

YouTube videos are a great way to play the bass at home and keep up regular practice. There are a lot of great lessons for beginners that can be found, and even some more advanced lessons that can help you to elevate your music.

You can find bass tabs for rock and funk music, jazz and blues music, and so much more just from a brief search on YouTube. All of this is free too, which makes it easy to learn to play bass without too much pressure.

If you feel like you need to be challenged further or lack the motivation to practice regularly from online resources, you can always look to hiring a professional bass tutor for a course of lessons that are tailored to your experience and level of skills.

Superprof is a great place to find a course of lessons with reliable music tutors who can teach you everything you need to know about playing the bass: All the notes and scales, how to read tabs and sheet music, progressions of chords and modes, and even about sheet music transcriptions if music theory interests you!

You don't need to be successful to have a lot of fun in a band
You might dream of performing in a band one day, your tutor can help you prepare for this with ease (Source: Unsplash)

Music tuition is the best way to learn how to play an instrument in an easy and fun environment and can help get you to the top of the game.

Whatever your goal is your tutor will help you reach it - You might want to start a jazz band with your friends playing the guitar, piano, and saxophone, in which case your tutor can teach you how to stay in time with another instrument, and give you some notes on how to perform on stage.

You could even consider taking group lessons with a bass guitar tutor, where you can meet other music students who share the same interests as you. Having other music students to practice with outside of your course of lessons is a great way to play some music without any pressure, and you might even find some future band members!

If you'd prefer your tutor's full attention, you can opt for individual music lessons where you will be free to decide how you spend your time. If you want to play rock songs you can, if you want to play funk bass you can!

Beginners lessons with a tutor are the best option to improve in no time and get you playing your favourite songs and bass lines from tabs or sheet music with top quality note pitch and rhythm.

Whether you decide to learn to play bass from YouTube tutorials or from a music tutor is up to you, what's important is that you enjoy all of your lessons to the full and put in the time and effort to play and practice your bass on a regular basis!
