I am a USCF Expert player who has been coaching chess for more than a decade. I have experience teaching chess in a classroom setting, afterschool programs, and one-on-one lessons. I also tutor a variety of other subjects and test prep.

I teach all abilities from learning the pieces to serious tournament players. Lessons focus on thought process and transferrable skills rather than rote memorization. Lesson structure and content is customized for each student. Common topics are creating a study plan, choosing openings, how to use chess books, how to study tactics, game review, how to use an engine, strategic and technical endgames, forming a plan in the middlegame.
