About Cain

I have taught in classrooms and privately tutored for 5 years, with pupils as young as 9 and as old as 29. I am experienced teaching bottom band/set classes and top band/set classes, adapting my teaching style appropriately. I have personally overseen the Oxbridge applications of multiple English students and have taught classes in history and politics as well. I am particularly proud of pupils of mine who have mastered English as a second or third language and gone on to study at English-speaking universities. I myself hold a first-class degree in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Warwick. The most important thing you ought to know about me is that I am an easy-going and well-established teacher and I will get you where you want to be in the subject.

About the lesson

I have a prevailing focus on written communication, clarity of grammar and deployment of good vocabulary. Above all I want pupils to be able to articulate what they think. Lessons are typically 40 minutes, maximizing attention and retention. We will focus on set texts, with small passages of required reading where useful. All pupils will begin with a session designed to assess their current level and how we can expect to meet their goals in the subject.

I have been a classroom teacher for a number of years and have worked with gifted pupils and struggling pupils from all contexts. I love my teaching subjects, I take great pride in working with young people and I always provide results.

Perfect! My initial interest in Cain was obviously his education. Having gone to a prestige university in the UK, I knew he was obviously a very intelligent human! We are at the being stages of Cain Tutoring my son. He has shown fast return communications, flexibility and reliability. He took extra time to wait with my son at the bus stop to ensure he got on public transport safely home. I have no doubt so far that he has the ability to show positive results for my son with the English subject.
