About Huw

Hi, I’m Huw, and I’ve been working as a freelance designer for over 10 years. I have a BA Hons in Graphic Design, and over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with a wide range of clients, from startups to established brands, helping them build meaningful visual identities and user experiences.

But honestly, what excites me most is not just the creative side of design—it's helping other designers navigate the business side of things.

I know what it’s like to start from scratch, wondering where your next project will come from or how to build a portfolio that truly stands out.

I’ve been there myself.

That’s why I’m passionate about sharing the lessons I’ve learned along the way—whether it’s crafting your first high-ticket offer, managing client relationships, or scaling your freelance business into something truly sustainable.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with dozens of freelancers and aspiring designers to help them not just improve their technical skills, but also develop the business strategies that make the difference between simply getting by and thriving in this competitive field.

About the lesson

I currently work as a freelance designer, focusing not only on creating impactful designs but also on building a successful design business. My lessons are tailored for aspiring designers and freelancers who want to excel in both the creative and business sides of design. While I can help with technical skills like mastering Adobe software, my true passion lies in helping designers navigate the business of design—from setting up your portfolio to learning how to attract and manage high-value clients.

In our sessions, we’ll cover topics like building your personal brand, creating a standout portfolio, and positioning yourself as a premium designer. I’ll also guide you through the client acquisition process, including how to pitch your services, negotiate contracts, and manage client relationships to ensure long-term success. Whether you're looking to transition from freelancer to business owner or just want to sharpen your professional edge, I can help you grow both creatively and strategically.

My lessons are flexible and structured around your specific needs. We can dive deep into business fundamentals, or if needed, I can provide hands-on guidance with design projects, software, or creative techniques.
