After 22 years of teaching chess to people of all ages and skill levels, I've distilled the key to chess improvement into three fundamental pillars: Train, Analyze, and Play (TAP). These pillars form the foundation of my lessons. However, beyond this structured approach lies the most important element: personalization. My classes are always tailored to your unique needs, with the content, pace, methods, and training materials adapted to your individual skills and chess goals.

The lessons are both challenging and entertaining, and you will need to find creative solutions to different scenarios. Depending on your level and goals, we will cover a wide range of topics: calculation, tactics, theoretical endgames, positional play, dynamics, openings, pawn structures, planning, blindfold training, visualization, swindles, pattern recognition, and more.

Besides, we will also cover more specific topics, such as: intuition versus calculation, time management, building an opening repertoire, the practical use of artistic problems, making the best use of chess engines and databases, and the psychological aspects of decision-making.
After each lesson, I send homework related to the content we've studied (puzzles, games, multiple-choice tests, videos, books, databases, and more).

I believe one of the highlights of my classes is the constant contact I maintain with my students. They can always reach out to ask questions or share thoughts about chess, even outside lesson time.

As a coach, my main goal isn’t just to help my students improve their skills, but also to ensure they enjoy the process. Each lesson must be rich in content, challenging, and fun—all at once. To me, that’s a must.

Free First Leveling Lesson: You can try a 30-minute lesson free of charge! In that lesson, through a series of carefully selected puzzles, I will assess your skills and thinking process in concrete positions. Then, if you like the content and dynamic, we can create a training plan and start working on it regularly.

I invite you to learn chess together!

Important!!: Please send me an email (it's in my Lichess/Chess coach profiles, type my name in Google and you will see it) before purchasing a lesson.

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I learned to play chess when I was seven years old. I was at my uncle's house, feeling bored, and he had the idea to teach me chess to keep me entertained. From that very moment, I was captivated. The next day, my father bought me my first chess book. A week later, I joined a local chess club, and from then on, chess became the greatest passion of my life.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

I've always been fascinated by Anatoly Karpov's style. His ability to gradually and relentlessly suffocate his opponents, limiting their options, combined with his exquisite endgame technique, makes him my favorite player by far.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

Chess is challenging. I always tell my students this in the first class. Improvement in chess requires a lot of dedication and perseverance; it doesn't happen overnight. Additionally, it's important to set realistic goals, taking into account each person's resources and abilities. In general, to be a good chess player requires: concentration ability, anticipating opponent's ideas, effectiveness and efficiency in decision-making, intuition, and a strong ability to recognize patterns
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

The main recommendation I would give to someone looking to improve their chess is to be patient. Improvement requires regular and consistent training, and progress rarely happens in the short term. Additionally, I suggest establishing specific training routines, such as 30 minutes of daily tactical training that includes exercises in calculation, visualization, and pattern recognition.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

In short, chess is my life. It has been with me since I was very young, helping me through difficult times as both a form of entertainment and a powerful tool for making complex decisions. Chess has also helped me socialize and meet people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. For many years, I competed, and eventually, it became my profession. I am grateful to be able to make a living doing what I love.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

As a player, I am proud to have been my country's junior champion multiple times and to have represented it in world competitions. As a coach, it brings me great joy to have students from various countries and to assist them in achieving their chess goals. Additionally, holding the title of FIDE Trainer is a special honor that I take great pride in.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

I've often been surprised by my students' talent and their ability to quickly absorb and apply new knowledge. Generally, children tend to progress faster because their brains are like sponges, rapidly absorbing information. However, I have also been amazed by the significant rating improvements among older players. It is scientifically proven that learning a specific skill in childhood—whether it's playing chess, an instrument, or any activity requiring mental dexterity—facilitates the development of neural connections, contributing to faster progress in that skill. Nevertheless, this does not mean that learning as an adult is impossible, far from it. All the students I've had who have consistently put effort into training their chess have made tremendous progress.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

I am a full-time chess coach deeply dedicated to my work. My primary goal is to create a perfect blend of knowledge, challenge, and fun in every lesson. I constantly seek to stay updated by developing my own materials—exercises, training systems, and educational resources—to assist my students. When I notice a student is stuck or not meeting their goals, I try new approaches or various methods to help them overcome the obstacle. I maintain constant communication with my students, even outside class hours, and provide personalized support when they are competing.
