About John

Hey! I’m John Smith — a senior high school student with a genuine love for English, writing, and helping others find their voice on the page. I’ve always been drawn to stories, language, and the way good writing can turn a simple idea into something powerful. I currently study English at an advanced level and consistently rank at the top of my year. I’ve placed in several school writing competitions and have helped classmates transform their essays from confusing to clear, and sometimes even from C’s to A’s. I know how stressful essay writing can feel — and I also know how great it feels when things finally start to make sense. What sets me apart is that I still remember what it’s like to struggle with English — how to start an intro, how to stop overthinking a theme, or how to write under pressure. I’ve learned techniques that really work, and I enjoy showing others how to use them too. Outside of school, I enjoy creative writing, film analysis, and a good dystopian novel. I also run my school’s debating club, which has taught me a lot about clear communication and critical thinking — both essential in English writing. If you're looking for a tutor who’s relatable, encouraging, and knows how to explain things without the jargon, I’d love to work with you.

Hi! I’m John Smith, a high school student with a strong passion for English, especially essay writing. Whether you're struggling with structure, analysis, or just figuring out what the question is really asking, I’m here to help make English clearer — and maybe even enjoyable.

My lessons are casual but focused. I tailor each session to your needs — whether that’s improving paragraph flow, mastering textual analysis, or preparing for assessments. I also share simple but effective tricks for breaking down prompts, planning quickly under time pressure, and editing like a pro.

Lessons can run for 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on what works best for you. I offer sessions online or in-person (location depending).

My tutoring is ideal for:
