About Roxane
In my spare time, I am a successful practicing artist who works mainly with oil, acrylic and watercolour paints, as well as creating needle-felted/mixed media sculptures and experimenting with photography.
Noteworthy exhibitions include my Carlisle Castle oil painting which was shown in the Cumbria Museum of Military Life as part of a collective entitled ‘Remembrance 100’ to mark the anniversary of 100 years since WW1 began. Similarly, my acrylic wash and ink Long Tailed-Tit painting was exhibited online as part of the Natural History Museum’s ‘Urban Nature Project’. Moreover, I sell my artwork-inspired jewellery at a prestigious museum: Tullie House; I sell/take commissions worldwide and have been an artist in residence at a local school.

With over fifteen year's experience in the education sector, my creative background and strong initiative have been a catalyst in helping students overcome barriers and achieve their potential. Some of my greatest professional successes include:
• When I worked as an Art teacher in 2012-13, 100% of my students in KS3 and 4 achieved or exceeded their predicted grades.
• From working as an Art teacher from 2018-2020, my annual data showed that in KS3, 98% of my students achieved their level whilst 70% of this number exceeded their level. In KS4, 26% had exceeded their predicted level by December of the same year. As a result, the success of our team effort was noted in the 2019 Ofsted inspection report where SEND pupils made ‘good progress in art’, ‘boys… [also made] good progress in Art.’, as well as ‘disadvantaged pupils’.
As a result, I would be delighted to share with students the various ways they can display, sell and advertise their work, as well as how they can utilise their creativity for the future. Additionally, I consider my diverse background an effective way of inspiring students, whilst helping them to succeed.
