About Xanthe
¡Hola! Ciao!
My name is Xanthe and I am a secondary school languages teacher with 4.5 years experience in the classroom and as Head of Spanish teaching students from year 7 to year 13, KS3, GCSE and KS4 with excellent exam results.
I completed my teacher training at Cambridge University and my undergraduate in Spanish and Portuguese at Manchester University.
I have also worked as an exam marker which has increased my knowledge of the skills and requirements for GCSE Languages. I have used my knowledge from my undergraduate degree to
I am extremely passionate about languages and believe that they are not only an important part of the curriculum but also an essential skill to have at any stage in life. I speak Italian, Spanish and Portuguese having lived in all three of these countries.
I have recently returned from a trip to Central and South America which has given me further insight into the culture of Latin America, while enabling me to speak Spanish with a variety of people from different countries.
My lessons at school have always been graded as outstanding and I pride myself on being a very creative teacher who responds to the needs of students I really enjoy bringing a variety of resources to my teaching and can adapt these to the needs of the student whether for an adult learner to help with conversation and confidence for a trip or visit or for younger students to help with their education. I have a real passion for languages and am keen to pass this on to anyone.
