Hi, I’m Manami
I was born and raised in Kyoto, and I currently live in Australia
I’ve also lived in the US and Canada
I have 12 years of experience in Japanese calligraphy, and I’ve been teaching it for 3 years, both online and in person️

Japanese culture - I’m a professional Japanese calligrapher. I’ve also taught tea ceremony in English. I like kimono and manga.
️‍Proactive - I love challenges. In Australia, I have held Japanese calligraphy workshops and markets.
️Curiosity - I’m full of curiosity and love traveling! I’ve visited 15 countries and 23 prefectures in Japan.
️Cafe lover -I’m a big fan of coffee and sweets, and cafe hopping is one of my hobbies.

About the lesson

【My strength】
I’m a professional Japanese calligrapher, and I also have knowledge of Japanese culture such as tea ceremony and kimono
  Having lived in Kyoto for over 20 years, I can also give advice on sightseeing plans in Kyoto!
  I have experience teaching Japanese in Australia. 
I can teach both Kansai dialect (Kansai-ben) and standard Japanese. 
Having worked at a large company in Japan, I can teach business Japanese, business etiquette, and formal Japanese(keigo) too.

【What You Can Learn 】

Beginner →
・Greetings, self-introduction, and useful words and phrases for daily life
・Reading and writing basic hiragana and katakana
・Simple grammar and how to form basic sentences
・Travel phrases for communication
You will be able to enjoy simple conversations with Japanese people and understand basic information.

Intermediate →
・Reading and writing simple kanji, tips for understanding kanji
・Further improvement of grammar and expressions
・Casual expressions and slang commonly used by natives
・Writing and reading more organized sentences
You will be able to enjoy deeper conversations with natives and understand manga and anime without subtitles.

Advanced →
・Business vocabulary and expressions, email writing
・Reading and listening practice with complex texts like newspapers and news
・Polishing natural expressions close to native level
You will be able to converse like a native speaker and gain a deep understanding of Japan and Japanese culture.

Although learning a language is fun, there are times when we hit a wall and lose motivation, which makes it hard to enjoy the process.
