About Afreen
I am a 19 year old 2nd year student at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Neuroscience. I am fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Bengali and aim to fulfil and indulge my love for English by tutoring and helping students in whose position I was once in. I graduated high school in 2017, scoring raw 45 in English, and apart from tutoring VCE English, I have extensive experience tutoring primary school students and science and maths to students preparing for selective school entry.

I believe in a collaborative approach as a tutor, consulting the student and the student’s parents/caregivers in providing the optimum educational experience. Every student carries their own unique potential with their set of strengths and weaknesses and as a tutor I see my role as enhancing that potential and guiding them to achieving their study goals. I believe in keeping a flexible style of lesson delivery based on the changing needs of the student, depending on whether they have a SAC or would like to go back to fundamentals. I make sure to make myself known to the parents/caregivers and aim to work with them in understanding my student/s better.
