About Sarah

你好(nǐ hǎo)！Hello! I’m a native Chinese speaker from Taiwan, currently studying Financial Economics and minoring in Japanese at the University of Sydney. I have a strong passion for languages and communication. While I’m new to tutoring, I’ve done voiceover work for children’s audiobooks and enjoy helping others learn in a fun, clear, and culturally aware way. I aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students of all ages.

About the lesson

I offer Chinese lessons for beginner to intermediate learners of all ages, including children, high school students, and adult learners. Students can choose to learn Simplified or Traditional Chinese, based on personal or academic goals.
The first class is a free 30-minute online trial, including introductions to get to know each other, a short sample lesson with basic vocabulary and conversation, a fun cultural element, and a brief discussion about your learning goals and next steps.
Each regular lesson is 1 hour and fully customised to suit your pace, strengths, and areas for improvement. I provide clear, structured study materials (digital or printed), including vocabulary lists, grammar tips, and example sentences. I incorporate multimedia resources such as videos, audio clips, stories, songs, and interactive games to make learning more dynamic and enjoyable—especially for younger learners.
My teaching focuses on practical communication, helping you build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through real-life topics and conversational practice. I also help students tackle common challenges, like understanding sentence structure or pronouncing tones accurately.
With a strong interest in languages and experience narrating children’s audiobooks, I bring a warm, patient, and expressive teaching style that makes students feel at ease.
