About Jorys
I am a postgraduate student in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford, deeply passionate about both my subject and sharing knowledge. Teaching has always been a central part of my journey: over the past three years I have supported high-school students of all abilities and given lectures to undergraduate mathematics students. I enjoy guiding learners through challenges, breaking down complex ideas into clear steps, and helping them gain real confidence in their own abilities. Tutoring is not only a way for me to share my expertise, but also to inspire others to see the beauty and creativity in mathematics.

I am a postgraduate student in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford with over three years of teaching experience at both high-school and university level. Alongside private tutoring for high-school students, I also delivered several lectures per week to third-year undergraduate mathematics students, which gave me strong experience in adapting to different levels of ability and expectation. My lessons are typically 1-2 hours long and are fully tailored to the student's needs. I combine clear explanations of theory with plenty of practice problems, focusing on both building solid foundations and developing problem-solving confidence. For ambitious students, I also provide structured preparation for GCSEs, A-levels, IB, STEP, MAT, TMUA and university exams. I teach all high-school levels up to BSc mathematics, both in person (Oxford and cities up to 120 km away as I love to travel in train, such as London, Birmingham, Bath and everything in between) and online.

Jorys helped me to catch up with a lot of maths concepts that i didn't uderstand the good way. I finally finished my year with super grades and aiming now for a phd in applied mathematics.
I worked the last year with Jorys, he explained very clearly the notion and was especially patient. I can’t deny my rating increased. Thanks to him I passed my exam!
I was in the same University in Paris than Jorys. During our bachelor year, he helped our classmates in maths with a lot of pleasure, class and pedagogy . He has self confidence and he's brillant. Don’t hesitate to choose his profile.
Jorys is a very patient tutor who takes the time to explain every concept clearly and in detail. He made sure that I truly understood before moving on, and provides plenty of practice exercises to reinforce learning. He is also very kind and approachable that makes learning enjoyable. I highly recommend him !!
I've known Jorys for a while, we met during an intensive two-year selective program in mathematics and physics (the French equivalent of a foundation for top engineering schools).
He always prepares his sessions seriously, provides very clear support material and remains available after the lesson for personalised follow-up in order to target difficulties and overcome them more effectively.
Always concerned about the well-being and understanding of his students, Jorys ensures that everyone progresses with confidence, making him a top-quality Superprof.
I would recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable maths teacher who is passionate about his work and genuinely listens to his students.I was a student with Jorys in France, and I can attest that he was the best of us in mathematics, even giving lesson to other on his free time. I highly recommend him if you need help in mathematics.
Jorys is s very patient teacher and takes the time to adapt his teaching style to the student.
Jorys is very gifted and knowledgeable on his areas of expertise but most importantly he is friendly and patient. He gave math lessons & private tutoring to masters students several years his senior.
I had the chance to be with Jorys in class during my final year of my degree in General Physics and I can vouch for saying that he is a lovely person, invested in his work and his passions! He also used to give courses in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and I can assure you that things became sometimes understandable. Passions and adaptability are the two words I would use to describe him !
I had the privilege of receiving tutoring from Jorys during my third year of Mathematics. His academic level is outstanding, but what truly sets him apart is his rare ability to explain complex concepts with clarity, structure, and passion.
Where many simply solve exercises, Jorys builds real understanding. He gives meaning to abstract notions and ensures that every session is not only effective, but also motivating and confidence-building.
Thanks to his guidance, I made significant progress in my studies and developed a much stronger foundation. I can say without hesitation that Jorys is an exceptional tutor — brilliant, dedicated, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed.
I wholeheartedly recommend him.I was Jorys’ classmate at CentraleSupelec, where he kindly volunteered to help several of us with calculus and matrix algebra during our first trimester. His teaching style is very intuitive, and he has a great ability to make complex topics clear and engaging. He often supplemented explanations with additional examples or deeper insights when needed, which really helped me build confidence in the subject.
