About Eliene
I am an award-winning broadcast television and online science journalist who started my career as a biologist with a Ph.D. from Columbia University. I have published peer-reviewed research papers in cell biology, chemistry, and political science. I've written or made videos for Forbes, Scientific American, ABC News, NBC News, (concealed information), and many others. I love to help others appreciate science as much as I do.

I'm a supportive teacher and mentor who wants to share my love of all things biology with you. I believe everyone can understand science by breaking apart big ideas into smaller, relatable chunks. I start from wherever you are to get you where you need to go.
I have dyslexia, so I relate well to people with learning differences. Whenever possible I apply neuroscience to the problems of learning.
I work well with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students.
