About Jade

Who Am I and Why I Want to Teach I am a passionate and dedicated pre-service teacher currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education. With several years of experience working in the childcare sector, I’ve had the privilege of supporting young children’s growth, learning, and development through hands-on, play-based experiences. I want to teach because I believe in the power of education to shape not just academic ability, but confidence, creativity, and a sense of self. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a child have a “lightbulb moment” or seeing them take pride in their progress. Teaching allows me to support every child’s learning journey, celebrate their individuality, and make a lasting positive impact. I am especially passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where children feel supported to take risks, ask questions, and discover their potential. My goal is to inspire a love of learning that stays with them for life

My Approach to English Tutoring for Primary Students

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:

My teaching approach is child-centred, flexible, and engaging. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit each student's individual learning style—whether they're visual, auditory, or hands-on learners. I use fun, interactive activities such as storytelling, games, role play, and creative writing prompts to build skills in reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension.

My focus is on:

- Building confidence and a love for English
- Supporting foundational literacy skills
- Making learning enjoyable and meaningful
- Creating a positive and encouraging learning environment

Lessons often include visual aids, movement-based learning (especially for younger students), and real-world language use to help students connect with the content.

Typical Lesson Length

- 30–45 minutes - for younger students (to keep them engaged)
- 45–60 minutes - for upper primary students needing more depth

Each session includes:

1. A quick warm-up activity to activate prior knowledge
2. A main focus task (e.g., reading, writing, grammar)
3. A fun review or reflection to consolidate learning

Qualifications and Experience

- I am currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education, with hands-on experience teaching across various year levels.

- I have worked in the childcare sector for several years, supporting children’s development and learning through play, conversation, and guided activities.

- I have experience designing creative, age-appropriate lessons that align with curriculum outcomes and individual learning needs.
