Language learning does not only contain fun in the process, but it could also get boring and frustrating often, especially when the student is in a hurry to learn and master the language or pass a test. So as a Chinese tutor, it's not just teaching students Chinese, but also to keep the students interested in Chinese learning even after they realize how difficult and boring it might be to learn a new language. Also, tutor can show students how useful it is to improve their Chinese by practicing with the student in real-life cases.
I'm a very experienced Chinese tutor. I started my Chinese tutoring since late 2012 in the Beijing Center for Chinese Studies("TBC"), tutored 5 students from different background on 1-1 basis each semester until i graduated from university in June 2015. The tutorials for TBC students were mostly based on the Chinese courses they took, we had text books and i would help them review/preview, enhance their understandings of what they were taught in class, also help them with practical Chinese skills when we hangout in Beijing. All my students passed their Chinese exams held by TBC at the end of their semesters with high score, i also got 100% good review.
Besides the Chinese tutoring in TBC, I also did some private tutoring for my colleagues at my internship, including a professors from Australia who were working in Beijing. After graduation, i kept tutoring Chinese from time to time, recently tutored an actor from Hong Kong to help him with his accent until February 2018 when I planned to leave Beijing, and he did improve a lot as a result of our tutorials. Such tutorials were mostly tailored based on my student's situation, focused more on practical Chinese to communicate by practicing with them in real-life situations.
I'm positive that I could be a great tutor, not just based on my past experience, but because I also really enjoy tutoring Chinese, the level of self-actualization I obtain through Chinese tutoring amazes me. It's a pleasure to help someone who is interested in my mother language to make progress.
