About Lucy

I have had experience in EAL tutoring in Switzerland where I tutored primary school aged students at a local residence. After several weeks of English immersion and daily lessons, the students advanced from beginner (A1) level to pre-intermediate (B1) level. I delivered lessons in vocabulary, speaking, pronunciation (focusing on intonation) writing, reading and grammar (including comparatives, possessive pronouns, verb formation and tenses, conjunctions, contractions etc). In France, I assisted in early high school grade English classes with a focus on speaking skills. I have also volunteered at a local orphanage, kindergarten and monk school in Thailand - teaching basic English to novice monks - and at Geelong’s Homework Club for Karen refugees.

In 2020, I completed a 168 hour Level 5 (Diploma) TEFL Certificate with The TEFL Academy, UK. The course included lesson plans and teaching materials for a range of levels from Elementary to Advanced, units on teaching speaking/pronunciation, listening, reading, writing and grammar, material and resource creation, needs analysis, classroom management and various teaching techniques.

In 2017, I embarked on a student exchange in Switzerland and France where I developed language skills in French. In 2019, I received an ATAR score of 96 for VCE with a study score of 41 in English and I received the Academic Prize for Excellence in the Study of VCE French (Dux of Kardinia International College).

I also have my working with children's check.

Hey everyone! My name is Lucy and I'm an EAL / ESL and French tutor from Geelong. I offer tutoring in both subjects for primary school and high school aged students (including VCE). I offer EAL / ESL and French tutoring for mature aged students as well (beginners to intermediate level).
