About Gabriel

Welcome to the theater course "The Feed of Our Lives".

My work involves the use of affective memory, not in the sense of therapeutic theater, but in the search for truth. Sometimes, it’s easier to take a small personal story and turn it into another narrative than to invent something completely disconnected from your lived experience.

For example, playing a resident of the City of God doesn’t make sense for me. I’m not from there, I don’t have that voice, I haven’t lived it, I don’t breathe that air. I could be cast in that role, but it would need strong context. The same applies to you.

Feel free to use theater as a space to talk about the paths that have shaped you, or not.
Theater is training, like going to the gym or learning a new language. It’s consistency that brings results, if that’s what you’re looking for. But it’s also totally fine if it’s just a one-time class. No pressure. Take it in at your own pace.

Finally, beyond all that, theater is subjective. It needs involvement. Just like with language learning, if there’s no interest or commitment, nothing really happens. So bring in the elements you feel like exploring here. Think of it as a scientist’s lab. Sometimes things explode. And here we’re working with art. The explosion is creative.

- Nice to meet you, I’m Gabriel!

It’s a joy to be the most reviewed theatre teacher on Superprof worldwide — a result of the trust of amazing students from all over the globe!

Based on all the testimonials from the platform, I confirm that online theater makes use of presence, the same element (attention) that we use in real life. It is through the willingness to do theater in a video call that theater becomes an active tool (methodology) for practical work, aligned with our daily lives. It is an experience that presents theater beyond the stage — theater that is present in our everyday life. After all, isn’t life a stage? Don’t characters pass by us every single day?

Actor, educator, and researcher. I have a Master’s in Performing Arts from UNICAMP (CAPES scholar) and a Bachelor’s in Theater from UFRGS. I also studied Humanities and Film at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain.

I currently teach Theater and Spanish, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel). Focusing on non-actors and using the stage for personal growth and communication. Through SuperProf, I visit private students and institutions like Diageo Brasil, Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, and CACS – Complexo Assistencial Cairbar Schutel. My research explores dramaturgy and Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), emphasizing online and creative practices.

I acted in the series “Parada 90” (Ulbra TV), directed by Maurício Gyboski, and was selected for “Casal Malhação” on Caldeirão do Huck in 2011. On stage, I performed in works by Anne Frank, Machado de Assis, and Simões Lopes Neto in southern Brazil.

As a producer, I led the trilingual service team at the 2019 Copa América at Arena do Grêmio. I produced concerts for Ira!, Maiara & Maraisa, and Moacyr Franco, and worked on festivals like Palco Giratório, Poa em Cena, and the Porto Alegre Book Fair.

I’ve featured in ads like the global Google campaign (2023) filmed in Uruguay, directed by Ben Whitehouse for Oriental Films (UY) and Stink Films (UK). I also worked on Fantástico’s documentary series, recreating Ney Matogrosso’s “Sangue Latino.” I am an ambassador for the LED Challenge, by Globo and Fundação Roberto Marinho.

I teach via SuperProf and present the course “O Feed da Nossa Vida,” focused on listening, improvisation, and stage presence. Over the years, I’ve worked with immigrants, refugees, seniors, and vulnerable youth, using theater as a bridge—offering expression, inclusion, and transformation.

I created the audio drama series “Voz para Cumaná” with Venezuelan refugees, and I also coach actors. I believe in pedagogy grounded in sensitive listening, connection, and access to theater as a right. My goal is to co-create unique, creative paths with everyone who steps into the scene with me—on stage, on screen, or in class.

Theatre for life, a mirror in motion

The theatre classes I offer are a space for listening, creation, and internal reorganization. They take place online (via video call) or in person: in libraries, parks, or locations agreed upon with the student.

But above all, theatre happens within you.

The proposal is to use theatre as a tool to clearly see the character we are playing today — one we often don't even realize we are portraying.
After all, life is a stage in constant transformation. We all create versions of ourselves with each new scene.

Do we change our tone of voice? Our posture? Our emotions?

Since the pandemic, have our "roles" also changed?

Theatre helps us see this with clarity, lightness, and awareness.

What are the classes like?

Each session is an invitation to step out of autopilot and organize what we carry from the outside world — with creativity and freedom.

Theatre here is not just about acting “outwardly,” but about understanding what moves us internally.

You will experience:

- Theatre Games (Spolin), Theatre of the Oppressed (Boal), Philosophy of Theatre (Dubatti)

- Listening and presence

- Dramaturgy

- Body and voice expression

- Character creation

- Improvisation

- Public speaking and overcoming inhibition

- Classes are personalized to what you want! Whether you’ve never done theatre before or you’re an actor looking to deepen your craft.
Read the comments about the sessions and make yourself available to move forward!

Who is it for?

- Non-actors: professionals, expatriates, students, executives, people 60+, shy individuals, and anyone interested in personal development or communication.

- Actors and actresses: in training or experienced, with a focus on performance, character development, and preparation for audiovisual work.

- Children and teens: with a focus on autonomy, creativity, expression, and emotional regulation.

️ Differentials

- I work with “everyday characters,” drawing inspiration from archetypes and the versions we create of ourselves.

- Sessions for actor direction, active table reads, as in the scene from the film Beijo no Asfalto (2018), directed by Amir Haddad (a reference for technical acting work).

- I also teach in-person classes in public or private spaces in the Metropolitan Region (by arrangement).

- Individual or group classes.

Extensions of the work

- Cast preparation for film, audiovisual, and independent productions

- Guidance for artistic projects

- Consulting for professional or school presentations: focusing on pitch, communication, soft and hard skills

- Dramaturgy and scriptwriting

Class scheduling and cancellations are made up to 24 hours before the meeting.

After the course ends, the recorded classes will be available for 2 weeks on Google Drive.

- Dear student,

Just a quick and important note: for international transfers via PayPal, there are some transaction fees. The official price of the class is R$80 (Brazilian reais). In Brazil, we usually use a system called PIX, which does not charge any fees for users.

However, when using PayPal, the final amount after fees should be:

€16 for students in Europe, or

$15 for students paying in US dollars.

As with any international service, it's customary for the client to cover the transfer fees — not the service provider. Thank you so much for your understanding!

Warm regards,
Gabriel
