I hold an Associate of Music in Piano Skills and have spent years supporting students as they grow into confident, expressive performers. Whether you're preparing to lead worship, accompany vocalists, or play background music at events, I tailor each lesson to your unique goals. My approach is hands-on, practical, and encouraging. We work on everything from chord voicings and transitions to dynamic expression and stage presence. My piano teaching approach is built for real-world music making—especially in modern, popular styles. I focus on pop piano techniques that help you play the songs you actually enjoy. Whether you're drawn to Top 40 hits, acoustic ballads, or upbeat anthems, we'll break down how those pieces work from the inside out.
I teach chord voicings that make your playing sound full and professional. We also practice arranging contemporary songs so you can play solo or with others. Playing by ear is a big part of my method—because music should feel natural and expressive, not just something you read. I use call-and-response exercises, audio references, and simplified lead sheets to develop this skill.
Each lesson is personalized to your musical goals and pace. I’m especially experienced with adults who play for fun, and with players who want to sound great quickly. I push my students to reach their goals, and we always keep it fun and inspiring. You’ll get lots of real-time feedback, encouragement, and challenges that help you grow.
