About Barbara
Barbara Wiese is a freelance recorder, traverse flutist and instrumental pedagogue and graduated with a music teacher diploma and artistic maturity examination on both instruments.
Through the Music Education-course in Detmold, she deepened her interest in music dramaturgy and implements her musical ideas, inspired by artist colleagues from all branches, as a moderator and workshop leader.
She taught at the University of Hildesheim for a few years , at the Wunstorf Music School and at the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory in Dresden; she conducted advanced training courses for recorder teachers.
As a soloist, she performed in the chamber music hall of the Berlin Philharmonic, at the Dresden Music Festival, in the Dresden Frauenkirche and at festivals for early music.
She worked on opera and oratorio projects, including CD Recordings, the "Capella Sagittariana" or the "Batzdorfer Hofkapelle" with. For many years she worked with the harpsichordist of the “Freiburg Baroque Orchestra”, with Torsten Johann.
She plays freelance in numerous baroque orchestras (Radiokammerorchester Hannover, Capella Sagittariana, Batzdorfer Hofkapelle, Dresdner Barockorchester, Sächsisches Vocalensemble, Leipziger Barockorchester etc.), is a chamber music partner of various ensembles for early music and devotes herself to projects with new music for recorder.
