About Eleanor
With a background of over seven years in vocal coaching, I dedicate myself to helping singers of all levels sing with power, control, and emotional connection. My students range from teens preparing for school musicals and auditions to adults rediscovering their passion for singing and professionals polishing their vocal technique. I focus on teaching a comprehensive vocal technique, including breath control, diaphragm support, vocal fold care, resonance, and pitch precision, ensuring that singers develop a healthy and sustainable voice. But technique alone isn’t enough; I emphasize artistic growth, helping students understand phrasing, dynamics, storytelling, and stage presence so that their performances resonate emotionally with audiences. I use a technology-rich teaching approach, often recording lessons for feedback, employing piano and backing tracks for live accompaniment, and incorporating apps that help with pitch and rhythm training. Creativity is encouraged through songwriting and vocal improvisation, giving students tools to explore their unique musical identity. I coach a variety of styles including pop, jazz, musical theater, soul, and contemporary R&B, customizing lessons to match the student’s voice and goals. Additionally, I offer support with audition prep, performance anxiety management, and vocal recovery techniques. My teaching style is supportive, structured, and inspiring, focused on helping students not just sing better, but sing with authenticity, confidence, and joy.

The voice is an instrument unlike any other—it is both deeply personal and universally connective. My approach to vocal teaching is built on the foundations of Functional Technique, Artistic Identity, Cross-Cultural Literacy, and Empowered Learning. Functional technique begins with understanding how the vocal mechanism works.
I guide students through breath engagement, phonation, resonance balancing, and body alignment, all while emphasizing vocal health and flexibility. Through evidence-based methods, I help students build a responsive, sustainable voice that can adapt to a range of styles and performance demands. Beyond mechanics, we delve into artistic identity.
I encourage students to reflect on what singing means to them, what emotions they want to convey, and how their lived experiences shape their expression. Each voice is unique, and rather than molding students into a standardized ideal, I focus on bringing out what is distinct and authentic in every singer. This exploration is often grounded in creative exercises—improvisation, personal storytelling, and interpretive journaling—which open the door to greater expressive range and confidence. Cross-cultural literacy is also essential in my studio. We examine repertoire from a variety of traditions, learning to honor both the technical demands and the cultural context of each piece. Whether interpreting Arabic vocal ornamentation, navigating the rhythmic complexities of Afro-Brazilian music, or exploring the narrative tradition of American folk, students expand their perspective while enhancing their vocal agility and stylistic awareness.
Finally, I emphasize empowered learning. I teach students how to set goals, evaluate progress using recordings and written reflections, and develop effective, joyful practice habits. We work through mental blocks like performance anxiety, perfectionism, and creative doubt with compassion and actionable tools. My ultimate aim is to help each student become a confident, self-aware artist—one who knows their voice, trusts it, and can share it meaningfully with the world.
