About Leochr
There’s a reason so many adults find comfort and fulfillment in learning the flute: it’s soothing, expressive, and surprisingly empowering. My teaching style is gentle but purposeful, grounded in the idea that every person has musical potential, no matter their background or age. I work with many adults over 50 who are learning an instrument for the first time or returning to it with fresh curiosity. We focus on tone, breath, rhythm, and simple melodies, but we also talk about how music fits into your life. I help you develop a personal practice routine that’s manageable and enjoyable, not overwhelming. I also use multi-sensory learning techniques like movement, humming, writing, and listening to deepen your understanding of sound. We celebrate small victories, we laugh through the tricky bits, and we keep moving forward—always together. Every flute student I work with brings a different story, and I make it my mission to honor that story through personalized, engaging instruction. I work with adults—especially those over 50—who are looking for something more than just music lessons. They want to grow, reflect, and enjoy a new kind of accomplishment. I meet each student with patience, adaptability, and a keen ear for what inspires them.
My lessons cover breathing, tone shaping, finger technique, and rhythm, all framed within exercises and music that are meaningful to the learner. I incorporate slow practice, audio feedback, and creative projects like sound journaling to build confidence and curiosity. My approach is less about rigid progress and more about musical enrichment that lasts a lifetime.
