About Dr Eric

If I could describe myself in one word is that I'm a great listener. Most tutors will offer you generic advice on things that might work for others. However, with my help I'll listen to your needs and wants and then I'll develop a plan that will only work for you. Every lesson I give is different because it is specifically tailored to YOU. Aside from receiving formal training by 2 internationally recognised institutions (King's College London, and The University of Liverpool) I've also read 20+ books on personal development. Therefore, I am able to summarise personal coaching guidance from institutions, ideas and techniques from international best-sellers, and research-backed tips to aid your learning in only 50 minutes. In this initial lesson I'll learn about what you want to achieve and we will create a plan that helps you fulfil your goals. I'll make sure we establish goals for every session so you can observe your progress and we'll focus on building systems that you can continue using throughout your life.   • 1) How long have you been interested in the field and are you practicing?

    My fascination with the art of conversation and communication began during my early academic years in Medical School. I've been practicing and refining these skills for over a 5 years, always seeking to deepen my understanding and effectiveness in interpersonal communication.
  • 2) Tell us what your discipline can bring to people's lives.

    Effective communication is transformative. It builds bridges, fosters understanding, and strengthens relationships. In my discipline, I empower individuals to express themselves clearly and listen empathetically, enhancing both personal and professional interactions.
  • 3) Could you provide some instant top tips to help us feel good in body and mind?

    As social creatures, I believe one of the best ways to feel good in our own body and mind is to be mindful and understanding the body and minds of others through communication. To immediately improve your communication practice active listening, maintain eye contact, and be mindful of non-verbal cues. A simple smile or nod can significantly enhance your engagement in any conversation.
  • 4) How would you describe your method as a practitioner?

    My approach is holistic and adaptive, focusing on the individual's unique communication style. I emphasize clarity, empathy, and confidence, encouraging students to find their authentic voice and connect genuinely with others. All of this is achieved via fully interactive sessions and a few laughs in the process of becoming the best version of ourselves.
  • 5) With experience, are there things you have learned or unlearned about yourself or others?

    Years of experience have taught me the power of patience and the art of listening. I've learned the value of simplicity in communication, unlearning the tendency to overcomplicate or dominate conversations.
  • 6) Do you have a role model, a person who really inspired you?

    Oprah Winfrey, with her exceptional interviewing skills and ability to connect deeply with people, has always been an inspiration. Her empathetic and genuine communication style is something I aspire to in my practice.
  • 7) How do you personally relax; what methods work for you?

    I relax by engaging in reflective journaling, exercising, and connecting with those who I value. These methods help me clear my mind, improve my focus, and enhance my communication skills.
  • 8) Tell us about a memorable lesson

    In a particularly memorable one-on-one session, I met a young woman struggling to express his thoughts coherently due to severe anxiety. Our initial conversations were challenging, filled with long pauses and uncertainty. However, through a series of guided exercises and patient, supportive dialogue, we gradually broke down these barriers. Witnessing her transformation from a reticent individual to someone who could articulate her ideas confidently was profoundly rewarding. This experience reinforced my belief in the transformative power of tailored, empathetic communication, and the incredible impact it can have on an individual's self-expression and confidence.
