I believe in helping the student utilize all available tools to include formula charts and calculators if allowed. A typical lesson will include clear vocabulary and prior knowledge checks to proceed with success in the lesson. The lesson will include a short direct teach, opportunity to demonstrate understanding and seek clarification and a formative assessment. I have 16 years of high school math experience and know a great deal about being successful on high stakes exams. I like to keep it simple and make sure the students leaves with a sustainable understanding of content. The lessons will be geared to students taking Algebra 1, Geometry or Algebra 2 to include advanced of these courses. I like to keep things engaging so expect some humor!
