Hi! I’m Sara, a Brazilian Portuguese teacher from Minas Gerais. I’m passionate about showing students the real Brazil through our language, culture, music, and humor. In my classes, you’ll feel like you’re learning Portuguese at a friend’s kitchen table, not in a boring classroom. I have experience teaching Portuguese as a foreign language online, working with students from beginner to advanced levels. I’m TEFL-certified (UK), studied Portuguese/English at university, and developed my own methodology called Roça Class, where we learn through everyday expressions, slang, and real-life scenarios.
I also prepare students for CELPE-Bras (the official Brazilian Portuguese proficiency exam), focusing on communication and the four skills required, not just grammar rules. My classes are fully personalized: we go from analyzing Brazilian songs to simulating real situations like ordering food, chatting with locals, or even understanding cultural 'unspoken rules.'

Perfect! Sara is an outstanding Brazilian Portuguese teacher! She has helped me learn the language as it’s actually spoken day-to-day and has deepened my understanding of Brazilian culture. She creates engaging scripts and real-life scenarios (even collaborating with ChatGPT!) that prepare me for situations I might encounter when visiting Brazil. Sara is easy to work with, keeps me on my toes, and has given me the confidence to use Portuguese in any situation. Highly recommend!
