About Idalis
I am an Oglethorpe University graduate who has been tutoring high school students since I was in high school and continued tutoring high schoolers and fellow university students later on. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2020 and understand that learning has become more of an endeavor for many. I wish to help make your academia easier to swallow, as I pride myself in making a difference in others' academic journey.
I think that art history should be a fun endeavor! Art itself is its own form of entertainment and should be treated that way. After graduating, with my love of art I continued honing my knowledge and became published soon after due to my passion and ever increasing arsenal of artistic knowledge.

I teach with the hopes of art works not only being recognizable but easy to talk about and digest. I make learning about the histories and methods of making art engaging for high school and university students alike. I focus on Ancient Roman and Greek art, Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century European art, as well as the American and European Modern art movements. I also have an intermediate knowledge of Far East Asian Pre-Modern arts as well.
I teach in a "tour guide" fashion giving what a person needs to know while also making the art engaging. This style of teaching allows me to explain in depth while still opening the student to think more critically on their own. I do not believe in PowerPoints as it is dry when attempting to engage the artistic mind, but I can make detailed guides for students if asked.
I also make a point to help with essay writing and oral presentations. Being able to break down art is two different animals when approaching from oral or written perspectives, so I wish to help hone both crafts with my students.
