About Sienna
With over 8 years of experience as a chess tutor, I’ve had the privilege of training players in schools, clubs, and private groups. I focus on building strong foundations while also preparing students for competitive environments. My specialty lies in fostering teamwork through shared analysis, problem-solving sessions, and team tournament preparation. I coach students to improve their opening choices, sharpen tactical awareness, and stay calm under pressure. Group settings are especially rewarding, as they allow players to observe different perspectives and playing styles. I encourage collaboration, respectful debate, and critical thinking in every lesson. Many of my students have found joy in seeing their progress reflected not only in rating points, but also in team victories. I help them develop consistency, focus, and adaptability. Beyond moves and strategies, I teach students how to think like true competitors. My ultimate goal is to build both strong players and strong communities. Chess becomes most meaningful when shared. Together, we’ll create growth that lasts well beyond the board.

Chess lessons with me are built on balance: theory, practice, and reflection. We begin by learning how openings shape the game, then explore tactics that create opportunities. I also emphasize how to build strong middle-game plans and transition smoothly into endgames. I make sure every student learns to evaluate positions clearly, not just memorize lines. Puzzles and timed challenges train the mind to stay sharp. I also guide learners in emotional control, teaching how to stay calm in both winning and losing positions. For Exam Takers, lessons are rigorous and goal-driven. For Immigrant/Newcomer learners, I make instructions clear, simple, and supportive. I believe chess should be both challenging and enjoyable. That’s why I include interactive exercises that feel like problem-solving adventures. My approach makes improvement steady and visible. I want each student to leave every lesson feeling stronger and more confident. Together, we turn effort into mastery and strategy into success.
