About Rory
With 7 years of chess tutoring behind me, I’ve worked with hundreds of learners ranging from young students to analytical adults. My passion for the game stems from my competitive background, reinforced through formal chess study and tournament experiences across local circuits. My focus has always been to turn chess into an engaging, rewarding journey for every learner. I create an environment where mistakes are celebrated as learning opportunities. My students benefit from strategic step-by-step coaching that doesn’t just focus on memorising openings but builds intuitive play. I incorporate modern tools like chess engines and apps while still emphasising traditional board practices and mental visualisation skills.
