About Keira
I am a dedicated violin tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Diploma in Classical Violin. My passion lies in exploring crossover violin styles, including jazz, rock, hip-hop strings, and world music. I love bringing creativity into every lesson, helping students discover music beyond traditional boundaries. My teaching blends technique with experimentation. I guide students in improvisation, using looping pedals and unique performance techniques to expand their sound. Lessons often include writing original solos, adapting popular songs, and exploring tone and texture in exciting ways. I encourage students to see the violin as both an instrument and a tool for personal expression. Whether you are a beginner or advancing toward mastery, I tailor lessons to your style and goals. When a student first sits with me, I see more than just a learner — I see a story waiting to unfold. Many begin struggling with posture, unsure how to hold the violin or bow correctly. Together, we work gently on bow hold correction, building a strong foundation that makes playing easier and more enjoyable.
Weak intonation is another common challenge. I guide students through scale discipline, using exercises that strengthen both ear and technique. I turn practice into a journey, where each note becomes part of their personal progress.
