About Aryaman
I have over 10 years of experience in teaching young children, teenagers, adults and the elderly. Many of these students came to me as complete beginners, many had been playing for years and many played for a time when they were younger and later on in life decided to resume lessons. All of them developed their playing with me and in time became competent musicians and pianists.
My philosophy is that absolutely anyone who has decided that they want to learn to play the piano is able to learn the piano, and able to learn it far beyond what they believe they are capable of. Everyone! What I don't beat around the bush with is the fact that it is hard work, takes a long time and is a commitment, but that because of rather than in spite of these things, learning the piano is an inherently rewarding endeavour, incredibly fun and brings an irreplaceable joy to life.
Don't overthink it, just begin! There is never the perfect time to start learning a skill, there is only now.

My expertise is with classical music, but I am also very comfortable teaching my students how to play jazz and pop music. Essentially, anything that you want to learn, I will show you how to do it. My students know me as someone who is patient and encouraging and as someone who keeps the atmosphere of lessons fun, engaging and relaxed.
Music is an aural art, not a visual one, so in lessons we spend time learning music aurally - what I call "living in the sound". We will spend time reading music too as both are essential skills, just like being able to understand by listening and by reading are important in spoken language!
I always make sure you come away from each lesson knowing something that enriches your experience of playing the piano and that you know how to assimilate it into your playing when you practise.
