About Chloe
In 5 years of piano teaching, I have supported over 150 students in their musical development by blending a strong technical foundation with opportunities for expressive freedom. My lessons focus on fundamental skills such as finger independence, rhythmic accuracy, sight-reading, and hand coordination, while also emphasizing expressive elements like phrasing, dynamics, tone, and emotional connection. Incorporating music theory and improvisation helps students gain a holistic understanding of music and nurtures their creativity. Each student receives personalized lessons tailored to their goals and musical interests, whether that's classical repertoire, jazz improvisation, or contemporary songs. One of my most rewarding moments was helping a student who struggled with performance anxiety develop the confidence to perform in their first recital, highlighting how teaching extends beyond technique to emotional growth. I stress the importance of goal-setting and disciplined practice routines to encourage consistent progress and active engagement with learning. Ultimately, my mission is to cultivate curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music, guiding students to become not only skilled pianists but also expressive artists who find joy and fulfillment in their musical journey.

I view teaching piano as more than just skill development—it’s about helping each student find a personal and emotional connection to music. From the first lesson, I strive to create a learning space that is structured yet welcoming, where students feel both supported and inspired. I begin with fundamentals: posture, hand position, finger agility, and rhythm. But those are taught through music that resonates with the student, whether it’s classical, pop, jazz, or original compositions.
My students learn to read notation, understand intervals, analyze musical form, and use theory as a tool for both interpretation and creativity. I also bring in a wide range of musical experiences—duet playing, improvisation challenges, memory games, and guided composition exercises—so that learning stays dynamic and joyful. One student came in struggling with confidence and rhythm; through fun collaborative exercises, rhythmic movement activities, and a shared composition project, they gained not only precision but a new excitement for music. I frequently integrate technology—digital sheet music, recording apps, and ear training games—to make practice interactive and self-guided. Feedback is always constructive and tailored to the individual, focusing on growth rather than perfection.
We set achievable short-term goals while keeping long-term musical aspirations in view. I believe music should empower, not intimidate. That’s why I emphasize expressive playing from the start, coaching students on how to use dynamics, phrasing, and timing to bring their music to life. Whether a student is aiming for a conservatory audition or learning piano for emotional expression, I’m committed to helping them feel confident, connected, and capable.
