About Robin
I am an experienced ESL instructor with a Master's degree in Education and TESOL/TEFL certification. I have taught reading, speaking, writing, listening, grammar, and vocabulary to adult learners from Basic Literacy through Academic and Business English (including prep for the TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, and FCE exams). I taught at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois from 2012 through 2015 and have been teaching exclusively online since 2016. I am very patient and work hard to make my lessons fun and stress free! I now live in North Carolina with my husband. We enjoy dancing, dining out, and going to the beach.

Lessons are tailored to each student's specific needs and interests but will normally include elements of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will learn new vocabulary and then read selections and answer questions to check for comprehension. Students will also learn grammar in a systematic way and will have the chance to practice grammar in realistic conversation. Students will also receive coaching to help them improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar during conversation practice. Students planning to take the TOEFL or IELTS will receive exam taking tips and practice exercises with specific feedback to help them achieve the highest scores.
