About Carly

I am a committed piano tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over seven years of teaching experience. My passion for the piano began early and developed through years of formal training, performance, and continued study. Teaching allows me to share the joy and discipline of music while helping students unlock their potential, one note at a time. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students of all ages—from young children to adults—each with different goals, learning styles, and musical tastes. Whether a student is learning to play their first piece or preparing for an advanced recital or exam, I adapt my teaching to meet their needs. Fundamentals such as hand positioning, note reading, and rhythm are emphasized from the beginning. As students advance, lessons include dynamics, articulation, pedaling techniques, and phrasing. Music theory and sight-reading are integrated naturally into each session to build well-rounded musicianship and deepen musical understanding.

Repertoire is selected to match your level and interests—ranging from classical to contemporary styles—to keep lessons engaging and relevant. I also offer guidance in improvisation, duet playing, and performance preparation, depending on your interests. My approach combines discipline with creativity, making sure students feel both challenged and inspired.

With seven years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, I bring a balance of academic knowledge and real-world insight to each lesson. I focus not only on building strong technique but also on nurturing a lifelong appreciation for music.
