I am a 20 year old student with a great love for books and writing, despite the course I am studying my love for English has never faltered. I simply pursue it in different ways now such as in reading and teaching. I find this role to be a fantastic opportunity to share something I am passionate whilst equally assisting someone to grow as a student.

In my past experiences of tutoring, I found that getting to know the student’s strengths and weaknesses and formulating a personalised approach to helping them learn was the best approach. This was exactly how I tackled tutoring biology and English at GCSE level to a pupil I worked with during sixth form and it proved to be successful. I monitored his progress through regular, short tests at the end of every session and by receiving feedback from his school teachers. I consistently received positive feedback from both his parents and teachers which allowed the student and I to continue making even greater strides in his learning. Turning our tutoring sessions from something he struggled with to something he came to enjoy and perform in.
