My teaching method is based on the student's particular interests. I believe teaching can be done in many ways. My primary way of teaching is to start off with spelling and reading. The key to becoming a great essay or story writer is for your words to flow effortlessly. With my guidance and encouragement, any student with a passion or goal will be on their way to achieving it.
Each child is different and I find their strengths and weekness and help them build on it. I help children in English by reading novels like Matilda (Roald Dahl) and understand what they are reading by doing activities. I also assist with writing stories based on novels. In Maths, I work through the year level curriculum such as worded problems, algebra, geometry, measurements etc.
I base my support on the development of a collaborative approach to the overall practice of developed support, a collaborative approach that builds on knowledge owned by the student being used to help build the required understandings and practices. Students develop ownership by the use of this collaborative approach.
My methodology involves individualising lessons for each student. I believe no student is the same and I value the different strengths of each student I teach. I will take the time to get to know the student and plan an individualised lesson. I also believe it is important to keep their parents involved in the goal-setting process.
My biggest aim as a tutor and pre-service teacher is to create a supportive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment where my students have the room to grow, learn, ask questions and seek feedback.
Within my pedagogy I implement...
My lessons are student-focused, such that the material and delivery are designed in relation to my students' individual needs. I seek to use a variety of materials and media to enhance and enrich the learning experience. Most importantly, I seek to develop close relationships with my students so that learning is relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding.
I am a relaxed teacher with a style based on engagement and enthusiasm. I look to exhibit my personality as I teach and be someone the children want to learn from, which means I like to show humour, kindness, a personal touch and have fun as we learn.
My teaching method is centred around how you understand and learn the course content best.
My teaching methods vary depending on the age and requirements of the student. I pride myself on being adaptable to the individual needs of my students and work closely with them to develop a method that will optimise the outcomes of my lessons. Each of my lessons is tailored around the individual needs of the student and works to aid them in relevant areas of study.
I am a nurturing tutor, however, I don't like excuses, a growth mindset is a must in my lessons. Nothing is impossible and my lessons are geared towards those who would like to realise their potential in a safe and fun environment where you will be challenged and valued for your effort. If you are prepared to put the work in, you will reap greater rewards.
I believe that every child is unique hence the one size fits all method cannot be applied. I centre my lessons around the student themselves and operate within their strength zone but outside of their comfort zone. I believe in constant improvement hence my teaching method involves using their strengths to improve their weaknesses.
When teaching, I focus on three key things in every lesson: establishing a growth mindset, effectively differentiating for each student, and ensuring my students feel valued. A growth mindset is when a student moves from saying "I can't" to saying "I can't yet". I work with every student to ensure they feel capable of improving, even if it's their least favourite subject.
My teaching method is based on positive reinforcement and encouragement paired with practical assistance and proven study strategies. My aim is to provide guidance, increase students' sense of accomplishment and overall capability, provide structure to study activities and keep learning tasks engaging in order to unlock potential.
I am flexible in my tutoring style - I am available to mark homework or essays, help with assignments and exam preparation, and am helpful in going in depth through the prescribed high school syllabus (which I am familiar with as a recent graduate).
I can guarantee that my lessons will cater to your ability in addition to being engaging. I value reflective practice, am determined to provide the most suitable methodology to your needs and approach every lesson with clear, structured activities.
I am outgoing, friendly lessons were for students years behind in education. I have rarely had to structure a lesson plan that was the teachers job. Teaching methods - simplicity promotes understanding.
My teaching method is based around breaking things down, whether it's deconstructing texts to find their themes and the literary devices that are used to show these themes, or breaking down a huge topic into key ideas that can become topic sentences in an essay.
My teaching method is by making students feel relaxed when trying to speak English. When you are already immersed in an environment where everybody speaks the language, you feel under pressure to learn as quick as possible, without committing any mistakes.
I am a very easy going person who is strict with learning. I set myself a few goals before attempting to teach the class to know how the lesson could be beneficial. I generally plan my classwork beforehand so that I could go through it again and be prepared as much as I can so that I do not waste time doing other things and focus on each child.
Do you struggle with understanding what an author is trying to convey through their text? Do you struggle to remember language, aural or visual techniques used in various mediums? Do you want some exam preparation help? That's where I come in!
I studied Primary School Teaching at QUT where the main philosophy used was constructivism and scaffolding. I ask the parents where their child is having problems and what their marks have been like and aim to improve their marks, build on their existing knowledge and improve their results. I also try to make the lessons as enjoyable as possible.
I believe that students learn best when they are enjoying the subject. Therefore, I strive to implement a student-based approach to my teaching by tailoring my method of information delivery or teaching strategy to better suit the student's needs and interests. Hence, I am willing to utilize a variety of mediums and creative activities to connect with the student in terms that they can understand.
My teaching methods are discussion-based. Together, we work through the problem from the simplest point, unraveling complex essay questions or getting started on that giant pile of exam revision. I prefer to get to know my students, and adapt to what they need. I can work with anyone from Year 4 on wards. Simply put, I ask the right questions so they can come to the conclusion themselves.
I like to ask students about their strengths and weaknesses. It is great to help students improve on their confidence but also really focus deeply on the areas where they need improvement. some common teaching strategies I use are modelling, questioning, direction and collaboration.
I have a very active and energetic teaching methodology. For me it isn't about what you're teaching but who you are teaching, believing that each individual learns and interacts differently depending on their best ability to learn. I am quite a visual learner myself, so my teaching will reflect this. However, I like to get to know an individual before deciding what is best for their learning.
My teaching method is to approach a concept from where the student's understanding is clearest, to build a firm understand from the foundation up. I love empowering students and helping them to realise their own potential, helping to build a brighter future.
I tailor my classes to the curriculum of every individual student, working on the key skills and constantly referring to the rubric and criteria.
I approach the topic that students are learning to get them to use reading strategies that they would be familiar with, such as sounding out unfamiliar words. My teaching methodology included collaborative learning and I support sustainability in the classroom.
I adjust my teaching to which ever style suits the individual student, using appropriate materials and resources when needed. I like to plan out the lessons with the students and their parents so I can work with and towards their goals and so we are all aware of what is expected and happening.
