About Hong
I am a qualified and experienced Taichi and Yoga instructor and originally from China. I live in north Wales for 17 years. I started to practise Yang style Taichi when I was 11. I learnt yoga when I was in China. I love both exercises and practise them every day. So I decided to turn these two hobbies into my career. I achieved Taichi certificates both in China and in UK. I achieved yoga teacher qualification in UK in 2018. I started to teach TaiChi and yoga as a qualified instructor at local leisure centres and community centres. I enjoy teaching TaiChi and yoga with great patience and experience. I am easy going and can speak Mandarine, Cantonese and English.

I teach Hatha, vinyasa, yin yoga, power yoga and restorative yoga. Clearly and calm instructions given, fully positive and loving. Offer modifications to adapt the poses throughout the practice. Relaxation breathing exercise at the beginning to help you relax, bring the focus into the practice. And a short mindful meditation at the end to leave you a sense of calm, relax. Beginners welcome.

Hong is an excellent trainer/teacher of both yoga and Taichi.
She teach both Vibyasa and yin yoga, whenever I get an opportunity I attend her classes along with my wife.
The classes start and finish on time, varied and complete for body and mind . You have an opportunity to attend the following class if you are time constrained.
She does do longer special sessions over weekends from time to time.

I have been practicing Tai Chi for 22 years, and with various instructors. I have attended Hong's classes for 6 years. Hong is up there with the best. Her movements are so easy to follow. She progresses through each stage at a pace that allows her students to remember the earlier stages, giving confidence to the students. I was a technology teacher for 36 years, i believe I can spot a competent instructor. I have no hesitation in recommending her.
I've attended several yoga classes over the last 2 years, and by far Hong's are the some of the best. The classes are varied in content, structured, but most importantly welcoming and warm.
Hong is supportive and reinforces the importance of listening to your own body and its limits in practice. She is thoughtful and takes a keen interest in helping students develop their practice, but in them as people, building a genuine rapport with each member of her class.
Attending a new class can be a daunting thought, but it need not be - Hong welcomes all students, regardless of ability and experience, with a warm smile. Carol.I’m Julia Culshaw and I’m a retired English college lecturer. I have been attending Hong’s vinyasa and hatha yoga classes at Abergele Leisure centre for over a year now.
She is an excellent tutor and always demonstrates the exercise clearly and explains which muscle group we are working and why. She always focuses on breathing alongside and we do meditation and relaxation at the end of the class . She is always professional yet friendly and welcoming . I would have no hesitation in recommending her yoga classes to all abilities and ages .I decided to study Tai chi with Hong, as she had lived and learned Tai chi to a high standard in China. My learning experience with Hong has been excellent, with plenty of patience and a good sense of humour complimenting the learning experience, and making the learning process a highly enjoyable occasion.
I started Tai Chi with Hong as a complete beginner 6 months ago. I have learned so much from her as her dedication and passion for Tai Chi is very evident. She gives very clear instructions and demonstrations to ensure that every move is carried out correctly. She teaches us authentic Tai chi, and pays a lot of attention to detail. She is very encouraging and her lessons are very enjoyable.
It is not an exaggeration to say that Hong's lessons have truly changed my life. I have a musculoskeletal condition (osteogenesis imperfecta) which means I am prone to broken bones, dislocations and general aches and pains. Hong tailors my warm-ups and practice to strengthen parts of my body that are causing me problems at any particular time. For example she was able to really speed up recovery from a very painful dislocated shoulder by incorporating qigong exercises to strengthen that area.
I am currently learning 24 form. Hong breaks down each component so minutely and corrects any mistakes I make to ensure I am practicing the form correctly. I have found the breathing and meditation elements extremely calming, enabling me to sleep well at night whilst having more energy and focus of a day time. I am feeling so much healthier and stronger thanks to this wonderful lady.Hong is simply the best.I am an 82 year old lady and have found Hong after many years of practise.Hong is the best ,Simply the best.

I would highly recommend xxxxI have had Qigong and Tai Chi lessons from Hong in Denbigh during 2022, and I am now getting Tai Chi lessons from Hong in Kinmel Bay. She is a great tutor, encouraging students at all levels. She ensures adequate warm up, and warm down at the end. She focuses on one or two forms per lesson, working through all 24 steps over time.

Hong always arrives to teach her Tai Chi lessons full of enthusiasm and fun. Takes extra time to explain and show any detail of any movement that we might find difficult. Hong always checks that I hear her well as I have a hearing impairment. All in all Hong is a great teacher and her enthusiasm passes onto us to help develop our Tai Chi skills. Hong teaches that tai chi is much more than simply moving your body through a set of poses.

With patience and pacing the class to allow the participation at all abilities makes for a welcoming and relaxing session in which you know you have worked and exercised well.I broke my shoulder, damaged a muscle and could barely move my shoulder but with Hong’s help i can not only move my shoulder better but i have a lot less pain. Hello everyone. I have been doing Tai Chi with Hong for a couple of months now. I got to know her through my mother (who is also a student of Hong, but on a different day), who let me know that there was going to be a class starting in my town. I have not missed a single class. Hong is a very patient teacher, who explains what we are doing in both the Tai Chi and the Qi Gong exercises that we do each class.
I have found that the classes are good for me, as it is a form of exercise that lets you move without making injuries that you may have worse (it's great for the back incidentally, which helps me as I had a work related back injury two years ago). I have also found that it allows you to develop total control over your body, as well as increasing strength and stamina. Aside from that, it is very meditative, and you can clear your mind with the Yang style of Tai Chi, as you are concentrating on only the one thing at a time, so that you can empty your mind of everything unimportant, get rid of your stresses, and just be (leave your mobile phone behind. If it is actually important they will call you back. If they don't, then it obviously wasn't important to begin with). And do it for long enough? You might just find there are other benefits other than physical as well.I've been attending Hongs Ti Chi lessons for the last three months and can highly recommend.
