I am very focused on foundational strength and proper alignment. My background in gymnastics has given me a wealth of knowledge in this area. I spent three years coaching gymnastics, so I am comfortable assisting and adjusting students. That being said, I also view yoga as a personal journey and I believe listening to our bodies is the most important thing we can do.
My yoga class is not just about physical exercise. I threat the spiritual side of yoga into my classes. My students love my classes because they are relaxing, empowering and energising. I love cultivating supportive community and assisting my students to overcome their obstacles in their lives by yoga and meditation. “We are all just walking each other home.”—Ram Dass.
My teaching methods are working with the client. This means being flexible and accomodating to each individuals interests and personal circumstances. There is no one size fits all approach when it comes to yoga so by using a yoga therapy approach, I can help support the clients needs.
My teaching method is always set on the foundation of mindfulness and compassion towards ourselves. My classes are nurturing mixed with strength building postures. My goal is to help each student connect their body, mind and spirit through a mindful practice.
I like to keep breathing-focused practice. My goal is to help you connect your mind and body and create balance. While connecting to your breath, I will guide you in gaining strength and flexibility. The sessions will be tailored to your requests and draw influence from different style of yoga.
For me yoga means giving attention and kindness to your mind, body and soul. In my classes I trie to close of the outside world so one can pay attention to that what's happening inside their mind and body. A safe environment, relaxing music, help were needed and breathing are important in my classes.
We will first meet and discuss your daily routine over a delicious cup of tea, health state and any injuries you might have to ensure a safe and suitable level of class as well as a preference in style of yoga. I generally teach my students traditional Hatha Vinyasa, Yin (gentle and slow) or a combination of Yin and Yang poses with elements of Ashtanga.
With influences of Somatics and Taichi, Somachi gets us to understand the connection of inner space (identity) and outer space (environment) and breathe properly with intention. The classes range from slow flow to restorative with a focus on fluid transitions.
I am Ivy, Kuan. My contact number is (concealed information). I base my class on a certain theme of each class, with types of yoga, such as slow flow, vinyasa, hatha, yin yoga, and restorative yoga, in order to meet student's needs. Guiding students to work on core and chakara.
I am an intuitive Yoga/Movement teacher. I personalise every class to suit the individual or to the particular group of students who are on the mat on any given day. No BODY is the same and so every class is different.
I teach based upon real-life needs. I focus on mobility, range of movement and I love to add in easy movements that you can do at home or work. I am focused in on the body and the breath, bringing it back to the basics in what you feel and how you move.
We flow in a sequence of asanas, each one designed to prepare your body for the next pose. In this way we relax and unwind tension and find our way to balance and peace. Guided meditations and music is incorporated into the class to inspire and deepen our yoga experience.
MY CLASSES ARE MOSTLY FOCUSED ON ALIGNMENT, BUILDING STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY IN THE STYLE OF VINYASA FLOW YOGA THAT ENABLES STUDENTS TO MOVE FROM ONE ASANA TO ANOTHER IN A CONTROLLED, SLOW AND SAFE MANNER. THE YOGA SEQUENCES ARE FOCUSED ON MASTERING THE CORE OF OUR PRACTICE WITH EASE AND DYNAMIC FLOW WHILE KEEPING CALMNESS IN OUR MIND.
My classes cater to the needs of my students and vary from a very slow and relaxing Yin style to an up beat, active Yang style Yoga including meditation and breathe work. I specialise in Pregnancy Yoga, Partner Yoga, Brain Yoga and traditional meditation techniques.
My teaching method is a combination of philosophy and my own life experiences. I believe yoga is a platform for living a more connected and fulfilling life. Exploring the physical practise of yoga allows us to discover our highest potential and uncovers an internal state of peace.
I find fluidity between breath and movement, creating a beautiful stillness of the mind.
It is of great importance to bring to my teaching a fun, dynamic, safe and meditative practice so that we can establish intelligence, balance and subtlety in our bodies and minds, for when we have these calm qualities of balance, non-violence, harmony, peace and contentment our body simply does not make poor choices in regard to food and sensual intake.
My teaching strives from the heart to create a calming, soothing and nurturing environment. My style of classes can be enjoyed by all yogis from beginners to advanced, where students can explore and discover depth and connection with their inner self.
My teaching methodology is that everybody is different. I like to connect with my students personally and allow their learning styles to guide our sessions. Most students become friends quickly and we learn from one another.
I have experience of teaching multi-style yoga, yet my aim is to preserve its original roots. All classes are taught with an accent on mindful movement and awareness of breath. Furthermore, either explicitly or implicitly I infuse each class with chakra/energy based work, psychotherapy related exercises, meditation, and general spiritual guidance.
I believe each and all of us are unique. So, I make sure everyone feels in their ideal selves, while developping, and enhancing our innate abilities of flowing through Life thanks to conscious movements, breaths, visulizations techniques.
I like to have some variety and some continuity in my classes. I think there needs to be cycles of repetition so the student has time to relax in the pose and the body has time to build the required strength and flexibilty.
When I guide a class it is for the benefit of those present. I sense intuitively or through small discussion what the physical, emotional and mental needs may be at that particular time. I like to begin with meditation and an intention setting so there is something to focus our energy toward creating.
My focus is on traditional Hatha yoga, as well as Yin yoga as I find it amazing for one's transactions. Yoga is not about the physical activity at first, although it is very essential. In my classes I add pranayama techniques at the beginning to help you focus inside & build that inner heat.
I am a passionate Vinyasa and Yin yoga teacher. My guidance is a pure expression of my heart, grounded in real-world personal experiences and with influences from modern psychospiritual philosophies, traditional yogic philosophies and Chinese medicine.
I work closely with my students to suit each individuals needs for their unique body and alter my classes for how a single/person or group of is feeling on each day/particular practice session.
I will teach differently depending on who I am working with. Yoga and Meditation is all about, 'Self Realization', therefore I will be passing on tools to help one to return to their true nature, while holding space for them to explore their body, minds and souls.
What do you think about yoga? Diet, beauty, stretch to improve your posture? That is correct too. However, the physical effect appears as a result, not the original purpose of yoga. In Indian traditional yoga, we will not only focus on poses and the body but also observe humans as part of the universe created with "prana".
I like to mix up the styles I teach depending on what my students want. I am able to teach the following and more ; Yin = This practice is to deepen the flexibly and promote circulation by holding a relaxing position. Hatha = The chance to explore our bodies with a series of asanas (positions). Can be based on a function of the body, an emotion or an element.
My teaching is based on the Sun salutation, mantra, mudra, breathing. My personal mantra is: if you can, it's fine, if you cannot, it's fine. Yoga is your practice, with my guidance.
