The lesson is all about YOU. My intention is to meet you where you are and to create the safe space for you to learn and develop the practice. The lesson usually consists of breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asana) and meditation. Each lesson will be tailored to your individual needs and level. Suitable for all levels, beginner friendly.
My teaching methodology is based on sound theoretical knowledge of human anatomy and physiology paired with understanding of energy and information flow within and outside the human body. I join Western and Eastern knowledge and wisdom to design and deliver unique classes and sessions.
My method is: meet people where they are. Lessons will be based on your individual level, needs, goals, and intentions; I am merely but a guide. You are your own guru. I will show you the foundations everyone needs to begin/ advance a practice, and you can take these lessons with you wherever you go (into any class, or even stay in your own home). After all, wherever you go...
My teaching method is adaptable to you. In my personal practice, I enjoy starting off with a more cardio-orientated Vinyasa flow and then shifting towards a more power-/stretch-orientated Hatha style. I can cater to any kind of personal intentions, injuries, capabilities and goals though.
I am very focused on foundational strength and proper alignment. My background in gymnastics has given me a wealth of knowledge in this area. I spent three years coaching gymnastics, so I am comfortable assisting and adjusting students. That being said, I also view yoga as a personal journey and I believe listening to our bodies is the most important thing we can do.
My teaching method is learned from a 200 hour Training in Vinyasa Yoga. We work with the entire body and gradually find rhythm to open spaces. As the body opens, so does the mind. The goal is to relax the mind and feel deeply into the body.
My yoga class is not just about physical exercise. I threat the spiritual side of yoga into my classes. My students love my classes because they are relaxing, empowering and energising. I love cultivating supportive community and assisting my students to overcome their obstacles in their lives by yoga and meditation. “We are all just walking each other home.”—Ram Dass.
I offer private or group yoga lessons with a fun and relaxed vibe, primarily vinyasa and Ashtanga based flow classes, with meditation incorporated. Classes can be adjusted to suit the individual student, any levels of experience welcome. My teaching methods are based on honouring the process of the eight limbs of yoga, loving oneself and holding compassion for our bodies.
My teaching methodology is about the student. I teach from what is needed for the students. I teach at a level that is safe and appropriate with room to develop the mind, body, and spirit. I am interested in teaching a full class that incorporates the breath (pranayama), the postures (asanas) and the mind.
As a student of Yoga for 20 years I have experienced many styles of Yoga and have benefitted greatly from all of them. At the same time I felt a lot of disappointment, distrust and hopelessness inside myself along the way that I had to work through. It took me along to feel real and feel my body deeply. To appreciate myself and accept more of and for myself. I'm so glad I did.
Vinyasa/ Flow-Based classes! My teachings focus a lot around pranayama, being able to gain control of our breath and connect every part of our body and sync into the flow. Believe Core is very important part of our practice, which is often incorporated into the class.
I'm based in Melbourne and my methodology is to make yoga accessible to everyone - so I come to you! I can teach yoga in your home individually or with a small group. I also bring chakra's and energy into each class to make each experience wonderful and leave you feeling positive well after yoga.
You can choose to learn Ashtanga Yoga, traditional Hatha yoga or just combined yoga flow to connect your breath with the movements. Depending on your level I will design individualized yoga sequence for you to get the most out of your practice.
I like to keep breathing-focused practice. My goal is to help you connect your mind and body and create balance. While connecting to your breath, I will guide you in gaining strength and flexibility. The sessions will be tailored to your requests and draw influence from different style of yoga.
My sequences are based on 12 body Meridians.
We will first meet and discuss your daily routine over a delicious cup of tea, health state and any injuries you might have to ensure a safe and suitable level of class as well as a preference in style of yoga. I generally teach my students traditional Hatha Vinyasa, Yin (gentle and slow) or a combination of Yin and Yang poses with elements of Ashtanga.
In my yoga classes, I would start up with self awareness and joint exercises which is very important to keep the person engage with the class. Then, Surya Namaskar for few rounds and a short relaxation. After that, I would introduce asanas(poses) which focus on different areas. For example, to loosen hamstring, backbends, core practise, inversions and etc.
My classes involve a good mix of vinyasa teaching styles based on the principles of Ashthanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Bihar School of Yoga practices. Yoga is all about balancing the body, breath and mind, and hence I strive towards delivering a balanced class. I try and tailor my classes based on the requirements of my students.
With influences of Somatics and Taichi, Somachi gets us to understand the connection of inner space (identity) and outer space (environment) and breathe properly with intention. The classes range from slow flow to restorative with a focus on fluid transitions.
My vinyasa classes are based on the ancient Indian way of teaching, they last about an hour, and my ashtanga classes are the first serie, they last about an hour and a half, but you must be familiar with ashtanga and the first serie so I can give you the class.
My philosophy in teaching yoga is, yoga is for everyone! It can be tailored and designed for you. I offer playful, and alignment focused classes, and most importantly a mindful practice.
I am Ivy, Kuan. My contact number is (concealed information). I base my class on a certain theme of each class, with types of yoga, such as slow flow, vinyasa, hatha, yin yoga, and restorative yoga, in order to meet student's needs. Guiding students to work on core and chakara.
Class sequences vary from day to day and vary in accordance to the energy levels of the students. I adapt all my classes as I go. All classes include options for various levels and are very considerate of any injuries and physical restrictions.
My teaching is based on traditional Hatha Yoga (which is aslo a base for Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga) practises that include Kriya (cleansing techinques), Panayama (breathing techinques), Asana (postures), Mudra (gestures) and Bandha (internal locks).
Yoga & Meditation are highly beneficial holistic and ancient tools which still work today to support mental stability and clarity in our society. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT200hr) who also manages my own Yoga & Meditation business online (thewaywardjournal.com).
My teaching method is flexible, what I mean here is I have my own session plan each time before the class, but the sequence can be changed if there is any special needs from the students, such as if the majority of the class want to have more hip opener practice today, then hip opening postures will be added in more if there is not enough in my plan.
My students come from all walks of life. And I have realised over the year that the practice has to fit the student, not the other way around. So working with me is a very personal experience and very specific to your needs and abilities.
As I'm currently undertaking my Yoga Teacher Training, my teaching methodology is still developing. However, my aspiration is to teach to those who are very new to yoga and I intend to teach 'beginners' style of yoga which will be the best fit for my target audience.
Briohney teaches a mindfulness approach to Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga from a Traditional style understanding the power of breath, healing practice of meditation and using movement to connect deeper awareness towards the body on a holistic level.
