About Eleanor
I am a Courtauld trained art historian, taking a year out before starting a PhD. I have a grounding in Greek, Italian and French art and literature and a specialism in English material. I have a first class degree in the History of Art from the University of Bristol, and a distinction at MA level from the Courtauld Institute of Art. I have produced two papers this year that offer insight into unstudied works of art, that are intended to be submitted for publication.
I studied the humanities broadly at A-Level. With A and A* achievement in English Literature, History, Classics and History of Art, my breadth of knowledge permits me to offer a multidisciplinary approach to Art History in my sessions. My experience of studying Art History for A-Level at school truly inspired my path in life, and without it I wouldn’t have found my passion. In my tutorials, I want to have the chance to spark this passion in others, and help them achieve success.

I approach art history teaching thematically, offering a traditional teleological approach. My sessions combine lecture like delivery of information, discussions typical of university level study and working on particular student-led tasks (practice papers, essays, proofreading). I like to combine traditional art historical teaching with a contemporary methodological approach, twinning content with theory.
Now, more so than ever, students at schools and universities need support to achieve their full potential, and the tutorials I am able to offer will assist in that. I know how difficult the academic environment is due to COVID 19, and I am able to bring my newly practiced aptitude for the digital humanities to my tutorials, offering a broad spectrum of virtual learning resources.
