Find expert aviation tutors in Corrimal

Learning aviation combines theoretical study with practical flight hours from the very beginning.

• Ground school and theory: theoretical training covers subjects like aerodynamics, weather, and CASA regulations before you get airborne.
• Class 2 Medical Certificate: this medical check covers vision, hearing, cardiovascular health, and general fitness — best completed before committing to a full course.
• Enrolling with a registered flight school: a reputable flight school pairs you with a certificated flying instructor for dual lessons in the aircraft alongside your ground studies.
• Student Pilot Licence and solo flight: the Student Pilot Licence allows you to fly solo as part of your training, building the hours needed for your Recreational or Private Pilot Licence.

Working with an experienced instructor gives you personalised feedback that a group course simply cannot match.

In Corrimal, expect to pay about $147/h for an aviation lesson.

This rate varies depending on several factors:

• Your skill level and specific learning goals
• The instructor's qualifications, flying hours, and teaching background
• The package you choose — one-off lessons or a structured block
• The teaching mode — in-person at an aerodrome, video call for theory, or a hybrid approach

Online theory sessions are often more affordable while remaining highly effective for exam preparation.

Certain medical conditions and background checks can affect your eligibility to hold a pilot licence.

• Medical conditions: conditions like untreated sleep apnoea, uncontrolled hypertension, or a recent cardiac event may require specialist review before a medical certificate is issued.
• Vision and hearing standards: corrected vision is fine for most licence categories, but colour vision deficiencies may restrict the types of operations you can conduct.
• Criminal history and security checks: a criminal background does not automatically disqualify you from a pilot licence, but offences involving dishonesty, violence, or drugs are assessed carefully.
• Drug and alcohol regulations: a history of substance dependency may require documented rehabilitation and specialist clearance before a medical certificate is granted.

Getting advice from an experienced flight instructor helps you understand exactly where you stand before committing to a full course.
