About Joe

I'm Joe — a marine biologist, science communicator and adventurer currently working as a rainforest educator in the Amazon, Peru. I hold a First Class degree in Conservation Biology and have hands-on field experience including establishing a shark nursery in Indonesia and working on coral reef restoration in the Gili Islands.

Alongside my science background, I achieved top grades in Geography and Psychology at A-Level, and I'm a native English speaker with a genuine passion for teaching and communication. I'm also dyslexic myself, which has given me a real understanding of how differently people learn — and a lot of practical strategies for making information stick, especially for students who've ever felt like traditional teaching wasn't built for them.

I believe the best learning happens when a subject feels alive, not abstract — so I bring real field experience, real stories and real enthusiasm into every lesson, whatever the subject. My teaching style is relaxed, patient and tailored entirely to how you learn best.

Right now I'm based remotely while working and travelling, so all my lessons are online and flexible around your schedule and time zone. I'm genuinely excited to help you build confidence, understanding and results — whatever you're working towards.

About the lesson

I'm Joe — a Conservation Biology graduate (First Class) currently working as a rainforest educator in the Amazon. I've helped establish a shark nursery in Indonesia, worked on coral reef restoration in the Gili Islands, and spent years studying marine ecosystems first-hand.

I tutor Biology, Marine Science and Environmental Science at GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate introductory level. My approach is relaxed and genuinely passionate — I don't just teach the textbook, I bring real field experience into every lesson, whether that's explaining coral bleaching from somewhere I've actually seen it happen, or breaking down ecosystem dynamics using examples from the rainforest I'm currently living in.

Lessons are tailored entirely to you — whether you need exam technique, help understanding a tricky topic, or just want to build genuine confidence in the subject. I'm currently based remotely in South America so all lessons are online, fully flexible around your schedule.
