Tutoring is so valuable and can really change how someone feels about school and their subjects, which I have experienced firsthand. As a student, my tutors made me feel listened to and heard, and I was able to develop a level of trust and rapport with them that made my learning journey all the more enjoyable. As a tutor, I would value forming a connection with my students and adapting my teaching approach based on the students' needs and preferred learning styles. As someone who graduated high school this year in 2025, I know the standard and quality of work that teachers are looking for, and have a variety of worksheets and my own folio work to help students learn and achieve the best possible outcome. In terms of my academic achievements, I graduated with a raw ATAR of 99.4, and an adjusted ATAR of 99.95, receiving an A+ in Year 12 Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, Physics, AIF and Integrated Learning, and an A in Biology. I have a huge passion for math and science and would love to share this passion with others and help them navigate their learning journey. Some of the most rewarding parts of Year 12 was being able to see my peers succeed after devoting time helping them understand subject content, and this is something that I hope to continue to be able to do as a tutor. My main areas of tutoring will include Year 12 Chemistry and Biology, and primary school mathematics. Lessons will be an hour long, and I have lots of subject materials to assist learning.
Tutoring is something that I think is extremely valuable, and definitely helped deepen my academic understanding throughout Year 12. For me, it was important to build a level of trust and rapport with my tutors so that I could openly ask questions at any point, and seek further clarification on any aspect of any topic that I was struggling with. I have had experience in school and private tutoring, I have had a lot of experience in helping my peers with their academic workload, taking time both inside and outside of class to help them to the best of my ability. I have also been offered a tutoring job at my school, which I have accepted and will begin at the start of the school year in late January. I also had experience with volunteering with the Smith Family, where I was able to help a young girl develop her reading skills by consistent and regular practice, allowing her to develop her vocabulary and understand more sophisticated books.
