About Tomas
I'm Tomas! I've been playing chess for 13 years and teaching it for 4 years, and I still get excited every time a student spots their first fork on their own. I'm a 2500 rated player who believes chess isn't about memorizing 20 moves of theory — it's about learning to think. My lessons are friendly, interactive, and tailored to you: we'll analyze your own games, fix the specific mistakes holding you back, and build a study plan that fits your schedule. I've taught chess to 350+ students, from complete beginners (kids and adults) to club players rated 350-2200. My students have gained an average of 150 rating points in their first 4 months, and several have won National titles. My method focuses on the three things that improve players fastest: tactical pattern recognition, understanding why moves work instead of memorizing them, and reviewing your own games together. I use interactive boards, puzzles matched to your level, and homework that takes 15 minutes a day — not overwhelming opening files you'll never read.
