About Isabel
Hi! I’m Isabel, a 4th-year Medical Student at King’s College London, with a BSc in Pharmacology. I have a strong academic background, having achieved Grade 9s in GCSE Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as A*AA at A-Level (Maths, Biology, Chemistry). I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their studies by tailoring lessons to their individual learning styles. My approach focuses on breaking down complex topics, reinforcing key concepts, and developing strong problem-solving skills. With experience mentoring first-year medical students and teaching students with disabilities, I ensure that every session is engaging, structured, and supportive. I offer tutoring in KS3 & GCSE Maths and Science. My goal is to help students not only improve their academic performance but also develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed in exams and beyond. My Approach to Tutoring I offer online tutoring for KS2, KS3 & GCSE students in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. My sessions are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs. Lesson Structure & Length: Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs, but a typical session lasts 60 minutes and includes:
1. Brief recap of previous topics to reinforce learning.
2. Concept explanation with step-by-step guidance.
3. Practice questions & exam-style problems for application.
4. Student-led discussion & feedback to ensure deep understanding.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
- Concept-Based Learning – Breaking down complex topics into simple, digestible concepts.
- Active Engagement – Encouraging students to think critically and explain concepts in their own words.
- Exam-Focused Strategies – Teaching efficient revision methods, past paper techniques, and time management skills.
- Interactive Problem-Solving – Working through practice questions together to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 4th-year Medical Student at King’s College London, with a BSc in Pharmacology.
- Achieved 9s in GCSE Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics
- Strong knowledge of UK exam structures
- Experience teaching children with disabilities, developing adaptable teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
