About Su Min
Su Min began playing the piano at age 8 and achieved her ABRSM Grade 8 Piano and Theory of Music qualifications at age 17. Su Min spends a great deal of time in music where her current focus is on music composition. Since an early age, Su Min has been actively involved in music performance. She was a pianist and soprano singer, representing her residential college choir team at the University of Malaya Art Festival 2012 and emerged as the first prize winner. Su Min is also a multi-instrumentalist who played as a drummer in a band in Singapore. Additionally, she gained experience coaching beginners for Erhu performance while playing this Chinese instrument at her college’s Chinese Cultural Night in 2012. Further showcasing her musical talents, she was awarded the special mentions prize at SingHealth Nurses Day for her singing and acoustic guitar performance.

Su Min's teaching philosophy is to empower students through rekindling their own abilities to become active and creative learners, as well as generators of musical expression. She firmly believes that emotional expressions through music are intrinsic to every student regardless of their levels. Through her teaching, Su Min strives to unlock and nurture these inherent musical capabilities within each student, fostering a lifelong passion for music and enabling them to thrive as confident and expressive musicians. She aims to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment that encourages curiosity and a deep understanding of music, allowing students to embark on a fulfilling musical journey filled with self-discovery and artistic growth. Su Min also has experience tutoring school children and knows how to customize her teaching styles based on different individuals. 0.5-hour lesson per week for beginners 1-hour lesson per week for higher grades or as necessary
