About Elme
I am a qualified B.Ed teacher with more than 7 years of experience working one-on-one with learners both in person and online. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging and comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
My teaching approach is patient, personalized and learner-focused. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit each learner’s individual needs, goals and learning style.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can teach comfortably in either language depending on the learner’s preference.
In a typical lesson, students can expect clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities and ongoing support. I focus on building strong foundations while also helping learners develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills. My lessons are structured but relaxed, allowing students to learn in a stress-free environment where they feel motivated and supported.
My lessons are suitable for primary school and high school learners of various ability levels. I especially enjoy helping students who may feel overwhelmed or need extra support and encouragement to reach their potential.

I offer Afrikaans Home Language and FAL tutoring for Grade 12 learners, focused on improving creative writing, language concepts, grammar, literature, and poetry in preparation for Record and Final exams. Lessons include discussions of previous exam papers, question analysis, answering techniques, understanding mark allocations, identifying key words, and developing confidence in structured responses and essay writing.
